GridIQ
An F1 Fantasy lineup for every round, tested against 10,000 simulations
What this is
GridIQ is a tool for the F1 Fantasy game: it projects expected points for every driver and constructor for the next round, forecasts price moves, and builds a lineup within budget.
F1 Fantasy is the official Formula 1 game where you build a lineup of five drivers and two constructors within a budget and score points from their results at a round. GridIQ does not replace the game: it works out which lineup pays best, while the lineup itself is saved on the official side.
What the numbers come from
- the official F1 Fantasy feed
- session telemetry (fastf1)
- F1DB race results (github.com/f1db/f1db), licensed under CC BY 4.0
- MET Norway (Yr.no) weather data, licensed under CC BY 4.0
The 2026 season runs entirely on real data: points, prices and session results are refreshed after every round.
How accurate the forecast is
On a typical race we are off by about 11 points per driver. What that means in practice: if two drivers land within 11 points of each other in the projection, treat them as equal — the difference is inside our error.
Over the last 7 races (rounds 5–11) our projected top-3 drivers matched the actual top-3 3 times. The season's first 4 rounds are not in there: a model that predicts a race is fitted on the races before it, and at round two there is nothing to fit on.
Walk-forward validation: at every round the model only sees what was known before it.
We publish both the misses and the hits, including the ones that do not flatter us: a tool that looks more confident than it is helps nobody before a deadline.
What this is not
This is not betting, and not a guarantee. A projection describes an expected outcome, while a race is a single event: a crash, rain or a team call overrides any model.
GridIQ F1 at gridiq.world is an analytics tool for the official F1 Fantasy game. It is unrelated to the electrical-grid, wildfire-detection and local-SEO companies that share the name, and to other motorsport sites using it.
